Drive is no longer showing up in Windows Explorer

I have WD home wireless 1TB drives. A couple years ago I was no longer able to connect with the WiFi connection. so I remove the hard drive for the case and now plugging directly into a laptop using a usb connection. The laptop see the the device but the drive letter is not created therefore I can’t read the drive. All I want is to get all the files off this stupid drive.

After erasing My Passport Ultra because of lost password Windows 10 Explore does not see it but Device Manager does and says it’s ok, and Safely Remove Hardware sees it. How do I fix it?

As the disks of WD Network drives are hardware encrypted and won’t allowed to access the data directly due to its encryption feature if you eject out the disks from its enclosure. You need to connect back the disks to its enclosure in order to access the data.
