WD my cloud and all their bullsh!t

Got this mycloud a few months ago and been having major issues with this garbage. It is constantly down due to service outage of the server or mycloud.com log in. Other issues is the useless android app that can’t do a damm thing. Can’t even upload pictures from phone gallery directly. One must open the mycloud app to upload anything to the could. Useless garage!!! Next, the speed. Can it be any slower? When not on home network, both uploads and downloads are extremely slow (250kb upload every 2 seconds). I checked with my internet provider and they advice that the speed should be much greater.
Yes I did contact wd support, but those idiots were useless and kept closing the ticket.
Word of advice, do not waste your money on WD MyCloud.
As far as for me, I’m going to do whatever it takes to get a full refund!!!

if i knew that before buying it i wouldn’t got it :frowning: hate this cloud [[DELETED]]

Since I have 2 My Clouds and have always had issues … ALWAYS!!, I am looking into a Qnap TS-251A and pulling the HDD’s out of the My Clouds. I hate doing that, but WD hasn’t lived up to customer expectations as far as support or care.

I purchased a refurbished 3TB My Cloud + 4TB My Book directly from WD over 1 year ago. The pair worked exactly as I expected right out of the box. Caveat here -

I didn’t purchase these to be accessible from outside my home network!

I completely blocked all inbound internet access at my router
####I’m able to: access & backup:

  1. 2 linux machines
  1. 2 Windows 7 machines
  2. 1 MAC Book Pro

The pair serve us perfectly; since they are connected via a switch to my WIFI router they are available any where in my home!
