WD My Book 8 TB - Lost AC Adapter. Need a replacement

Hi guys,

I recently lost the power adapter for my WD My Book 8 TB (WDBBGB0080HBK-NESN). I am looking to replace it but having a hard time finding it in Ontario and I am also not sure what is compatible. I am leaving the country in a few weeks and so I am desperate to replace this power cable as soon as possible.

Any advice is appreciated.

Would any 12v normal dc jack cable do?

The power adapters that I have for my WD external drives are rated at 12 volts and 1.5 amps, with positive polarity for the center pin of the DC jack. Any aftermarket power adapter should work as long as the output is rated at 12 volts, is at least 1.5 amps and the center pin is positive. (You can go higher with the amperage, but make sure the voltage doesn’t exceed 12 volts or else you risk frying something inside the enclosure). The biggest problem is making sure the barrel connector and the hole for the pin are the correct size, otherwise it will not insert fully or maybe loose.
