I have a “WD My Book 4TB External Hard Drive Storage USB 3.0” it has worked for months now but now when I connect it to my pc it very slow even when I play a file it’s slow even though it worked … perfectly before. Also my pc slows down and when I disconnect the drive my pc runs normal again. I tried using Windows 10 scan but nothing really happens and when I try to reinstall the driver it doesn’t work. Anyone has any ideas?

There may be some background running process or may be scan would be running by any antivirus or application, which makes it busy to response on other commands.
Did you schedule any Auto Backup or scanning using antivirus or maintenance tool? And did you face same issue on using My Book with other computer?
