Im not brilliantly technical but would say I can manage most things of this level myself!? Am I missing something obvious?!
Hi, try doing a power cycle, also check if you have the latest firmware version. As the last resource you can backup all of your files and click on the factory restore option from the my book dashboard.
out of the box these devices do a firmware update which breaks all functionaity. The only way to fix it is to enable SSH and run some commands to reset everything.
After reading through endless other message boards I ended up (with the help of a friend) using ssh and Putty to factory restore, I only had a small amount of data on the drive (just as a test lot) which wasnt erased nor did it backdate my firmware version - however everything now works without any error messages and most importantly I can apply some security to my data!
Hi I do have the same problem and I was trying to fix this with no result. So please if you can give some details on how you fixed this issue it would be grateful.
I had the same problem last night level 1 support couldn’t fix put me through to level 2 and they fixed the problem. The level 2 tech was awesome, he showed me how to set my drive up and was very knowledgeable. Be prepared to spend a couple of hours on the phone getting it fixed. It was worth it:)
