WD live 2TB and PS3

Hi i’m streaming movies from my book live to my ps3 wireless but sometimes movie freeze half way. i disabled upnp in my router and in ps3 too as i read somewhere, still same problem. anyone heard about this and have any solutions?

How is your video encoded (aka what codecs are you using)? - Do the same files play when connected to the PS3 using a local device? Are you connected using a wire, or wirelessly?

dunno about the codec but it’s dvdrips… these works perfect if i put them on usb wired hard drive but on my book live sometimes it freeze sometimes not… i stream wireless and cant use wired ethernet cause my router ports are full. i know ps3 is wireless-G and my router is wireless-N so maybe bottleneck? i wrote to WD support and still waiting… thx for your reply advark

cheers!

Wireless-G is not fast enough for proper streaming! I’ve never used my PS3 wirelessly, but is it possible for you to upgrade that to N (A new adapter maybe- or is your wireless built-in- my PS3 is first generation hardware)? Another option to try would be something like the LiveWire - The PS3 will think your connected to a wired device, and while not as fast as a true wired solution, is faster than Wireless-G.
