WD files needed on My passport to use ATI

I am about to install the AcronTI softward from the support site. Is the original WD software needed to utilize it?

WD Acronis True Image is a standalone software which can clone drives, backup the operating system, applications, settings and all of your data.

Also,any other WD software are not required to use the WD Acronis and it is not necessary to use WD Acronis True Image software as you can always create the manual backup also.
