WD Elements SSD not detected by a PC

Hello,

I wanted to connect an SSD to a Windows computer which was previously working well while connected to a Mac.

I cannot find it in the File Explorer, but I can see it in the Device Manager under the name ‘WD Elements 1078 USB Device’ in Disk Drives.

What can I do to access the files on this disk?

Hi olimpusia,

Windows can not see the drive formatted for MAC as MAC use HFS+ file system where windows use NTFS.

You can try formatting the drive to exfat which is supported by both MAC and windows then try to move the files from Mac to a windows computer.

Surely this will not delete the files on the drive?
