WD elements is not properly disconnected when macbook goes to sleep

Hi!

I have an annoying problem with my 2TB WD elements disk and my macbook pro from 2023 with sonoma OS.

Every time the macbook goes to sleep and the disk was connected, then the disk will not connect anymore to macbook and it will need recovery. In fact, it is even worst, I need another laptop with Windows to recover the disk, since I can’t recover it using my macbook, even using the official WD apps (they not recognize the disk)

I thought it was something related with my disk, but exactly the same happens with a new WD passport disk. I’m using ex fat format because I need to use them both in mac and windows.

Any advice on 1) prevent the disk to stop working when macbook sleeps 2) repair the disk using macbook if 1) happens.

Thanks!
