WD Elements can't get enough power into it via AC adapter

Hi. I have had a WD Elements Drive since 2012. Suddenly there is a power issue.

With adapter alone plugged in, there IS NO power, no light, no mechanical movement inside.
Have now tried 2 adapters, including one with a light on it - this stays read and doesn’t turn green, which is concerning.

The Drive can draw some power when connected to USB to my laptop or smart TV. The LED light on the Drive will flash a few seconds then go solid. On my Smart TV, it can even view (but not open) the files.

And that’s as far as I can get. Is it an issue with the AC socket on the Drive?

Are you sure they are the correct ones ?

eg. 12 Volts / 1.5 Amps /18 Watts

Genuine WD Power supplies don’t have LED status lights … if you’re using the incorrect power supply, then the possibility to cause damage to the hard drive is extremely high.

My genuine WD power supply does not seem to be working, which is why I purchased another (with the same specification: 12 V, 1.5 amp). However, they are producing the same result - the drive is not receiving enough power to fire up and be recognised by connected hardware.
