Power not working

hi all,

i have a WD elements portable harddrive P/N WDBAAU0020HBK-01 and since a few days its not working. when i plug in the powersuply the light goes on for like a second and then its off again.

i tried it with another powersuply of the same harddisk but it does the same.

what could be the fault and could it be restored or is it dead?

If the power LED turns on for only a second and then goes out, even with a known-good power adapter, the problem is likely inside the enclosure or the drive itself. It could be a failed power board, USB-SATA controller, or a faulty hard drive.
Listen for any spinning, clicking, or beeping sounds when you power it on. If the drive does not spin at all, it may not be receiving power or the electronics have failed. If the data is important, you could remove the drive from the enclosure and connect it directly to a PC or another compatible enclosure to determine whether the drive or the enclosure is at fault.

I’ve encountered a similar situation before; it turned out to be a hardware failure, and the issue was finally resolved by simply replacing the hard drive.
