WD Elements 5TB - No Power

I own a number of WD external drives but only one elements drive (serial number WX31D254P7YP) which has not given me any trouble over the past 4 years. However after disconnecting and put to one side for a couple of weeks and reconnected the unit appears to be dead.
I have checked the cables with another unit with the cables and that one works fine so I have eliminated a cable issue.
The light on the unit does not illuminate.
I have also checked if I have accidently turn the unit off the unit on the back - this didn’t work.

Does anyone have any ideas how I get the data off the unit or assist in powering it up ?

Kind Regards

John

Checked the AC Power Adaptors ? in case one of them is dead ?

If the Power Supply is ok, the next step i would …

Dissemble the enclosure, remove the hard drive and connect it to a Sata 3rd party enclosure.

Hopefully, If the hard drive is ok (and it was the WD enclosure that has failed) … you’ll be able to retrieve your data easily.

If the hard drive is dead, then you have major issues that only a Data Recovery Company can help you with.
