Yes… I have run all the diagnostics and everything seems to OK yet …There’s something wrong the help folks at Sandisk do not appear to be in a hurry to respond to my queries.

Thanks for giving me nice information @TamJoseph . I will keep it in my mind forever.
It seems like your WD external hard drive isn’t showing storage details. Try checking Disk Utility on your Mac and use “First Aid” to repair it. If the drive isn’t recognized, test it on another Mac or PC to see if the issue is with the drive or your iMac. Also, make sure WD Discovery is updated for macOS Ventura.
If you’re experiencing issues with WD Discovery, follow these troubleshooting steps to resolve common problems:
-
Restart and Update: Reboot your system and ensure WD Discovery is updated to the latest version. You can download the latest version from:
https://support-en.wd.com/app/products/product-detailweb/p/126 -
Run as Administrator: Right-click on the WD Discovery shortcut and select “Run as Administrator” to avoid permission issues.
-
Disable Antivirus/Firewall Temporarily: Some antivirus or firewall software may block WD Discovery. Temporarily disable them to see if it resolves the issue.
-
Check for Drive Recognition: Make sure your WD drive is properly connected. Use another USB port or cable if necessary. Confirm it’s recognized in Disk Management (Windows) or Disk Utility (Mac).
-
Reinstall WD Discovery: Uninstall WD Discovery, restart your computer, and reinstall it from the official site:
https://downloads.wdc.com/wdapp/WD-Discovery.zip -
Contact Support: If the issue persists, contact Western Digital support:
https://support-en.wd.com/app/contact
These steps resolve most issues like “WD Discovery not launching”, “drive not showing”, or “sync problems”.
