WD Discovery Backup Software cannot find My Passport Drive

WD Model # My Passport

I installed a WD My Passport drive and associated software. Windows 10 OS. Plugged into a USB Port. LED lights up and the drive is powered up.

When I install Backup it cannot find the WD Passport drive. Did Rescan a couple times to no success. I followed the instructions for drive not recognized and no luck.

The drive shows up in my computer and I can write to it but the WD Backup software cannot find the drive to do a backup.

What do I have to do to get this working. If there is no solution how do I go about returning it for credit. I purchased it direct from WD.
