Wd caviar blue not recognized by bios

I have just bought a new HDD (WD Caviar Blue WD5000AAKX) to replace a older one HDD (WD GreenPower WD5000AVDS), but the new one is not been recognized by BIOS or WINDOWS CD installation. I have already checked all cables and this new HDD is working fine in another computers and is recognized by WINDOWS thru USB cable. I have already tried to update my BIOS but nothing happened. I tried to change some BIOS configurations as change from IDE to AHCI and nothing happened. I even tried to changed the jumper in the new HDD for 3 GBps and nothing happened too.

Someone has any idea what is going on? It is clear that is not HDD problem.

The PC motherboard it is Motherboard ECS TIGT-I2 (DMI 667) and it was working fine with WD GreenPower WD5000AVDS.

Thank you.

Hi there,

Did you also try a different Sata port to see if the same thing happens, this is very strange.

Yes I tried, but now sometimes it is found sometimes it doesnt. I will try to verify the power supply.
