WD Anywhere backup failed to connect to destination

WD Anywhere backup can see the drive, but generates an error “An exception occurred while validating settings: Failed to connect to destination” when attempting to backup.  Problem does not appear to be the drive itself, as I can read/write to it via Windows.  Same message generated for other USB drives.

Have you tried contacting WD’s Technical Support? I would consider giving them a call about this.
