WD 3TB elements not working. works on other computers

I ahve a 3TB elements disc from WD that I’ve been using for a while. I worked well untill one they my computer didn’t react when I plugged it in. The disk start spinning, and it also turns off with the computer, so it got power. I’ve tried different USB ports, but it’s not helping.

I tried it on another computer and it worked like it should. It’s not showing up in disk manager.

Is there anything I can do to use it on my computer again?

This problem started at the same time windows update didn’t work propperly. I got an update that just looped. It has been resolved now, but hte disc is not working.

I use windows 7.

Have you tried updating the drivers for the USB ports of your computer?

Make sure that your computer is properly updated.

I have updated the drives, and still the external disc isn’t working.

With the drive connected go into the Device Manager find the drive and delete it’s driver. Then disconnect the drive reboot computer and then plug the drive back in.
