Elements hard drive isn`t working

Hello Comunity,

my Western Digital Elements hard drive doesnt work. It makes strange clicking noises and the drive manager on my computer recognizes it but there is no drive letter and I cant get to my data.

Dose someone out there know what could had happened?

I promise there weren`t any crashes or hits.

Try a different USB cable and ports. Also don’t connect through a hub. If it’s a powered drive plug directly into the wall instead of a surge protector. Try on a different PC if possible.

I have exactly the same issue, but it seems like a hardware issue. It makes the same noises as if it trying to work but cannot connect, no matter what you try.

What would you recommend? Is there another way of salvaging the data?
