WD 3TB cloud and Time Machine

I was planning on backing up 2 Mac laptops on the same cloud drive…is this possible when using Time Machine?
Mike

Yes you can backup multiple computers to the My Cloud using TimeMachine (Mac) or Smartware (Window). If you haven’t read the My Cloud User Manual (http://support.wdc.com/product.aspx?ID=904) already you should read it. It explains how to use the My Cloud as a backup target for Time Machine. See Chapter 4 Backing Up and Retrieving Files, Using Apple Time Machine. Also see the following WD Support document covering using Apple Time Machine.

Good morning and thanks for the reply, I did read chapter 4 last evening and setup time machine on 1 of my Mac laptops and did a full backup. I was reluctant to begin the setup of Time Machine for the second Mac as I was not sure if it would simply write over the first Mac’s backup? In chapter 4 (unless I over looked it) I was not able to find information confirming the ability to back up another Mac with Time Machine on the same WD cloud drive.

While I don’t have or use Mac or Apple Time Machine, apparently each Mac computer’s Time Machine creates a separate Time Machine backup folder/file on the My Cloud using either the Mac computer name or the Mac user name.

Thanks for the info.
Mike

It’s exactly like that. No problem.
