WD 250GB, constant BSOD

Well aparently Windows Update decided to download a driver pertaining to my sata controller, and its tottally messed up my WD 250gb. It constantly BSOD’s upon its detection, whether trying to load up Windows on the prexisting 1tb WD I have or by trying to run Windows Installation disc. Not even safe mode works, it just goes into a BSOD stating that nvstor.sys has caused a problem of sorts.

I’d say this is mainly a Microsoft problem, but it pertains to my WD hard drive and I’m not sure where else to post this. I had this thing running fine until  the update. I really dont want to have to replace it if I don’t have to, but I guess I’ll have to if all else fails.

What if you connect the drive as a secondary drive and run some tests on it with DLG and HD Tune? If the drive passes multiple tests then you know you don’t have to replace it.
