I have a mycloud PR4100 running the 5.28.105 firmware. I’m trying to add it as a node in my k3s cluster, which uses flannel as a CNI. To run flannel requires vxlan, and that module doesn’t appear to be installed. Any advice for how to build/install a kernel module for myCloud?
Hi @koehn
Have you opened a Support Case? If not opened, for more information, please contact the WD Technical Support team for the best assistance and troubleshooting:
Thanks for the recommendation. I opened a ticket, asking that the vxlan module be added in a future firmware release. We’ll see.
In the meantime, if anyone has any recommendations for building that kernel module, I’d appreciate it. I found a Docker image with a 4.x (echo) version of Linux, and have downloaded the sources for 4.14.22 (the linux kernel version for MyCloud 5.x), but as yet have been unable to get the build working. I can select the module, but the make
command fails.
Where can I get the WD source code for the kernel used in OS5? I cannot seem to find it.
A bit more searching helped me find it here: https://support-en.wd.com/app/products/product-detailweb/p/139
