I have just experienced exactly the same issue with my WD15EARS Caviar Green drive. Operating on Windows 10 the disk manager recognises the drive is there but unable to initialize. This is frustrating as this drive has been used to back up all by client accounts and family photos and more importantly …iTunes… I will keep an eye in case there is a fix posted…
Any update on this posting? I am having the same problem when I try initializing a new green 3tb disk which I am using to replace my failed hard drive to my My Book. Thank you.
