My Book Essential Showing Unknow

Hi,

I am able to see the disk in Disk Management where it is showing as Unknow (Not initialized). When I am initializing it, it is giving error “the request failed due to a fatal device hardware error”.

Is my Hard drive gone and cannot be repaired?

Thanks for the link.

I did the “Extended Test” and the result is showing capacity as 0.00 GB. What should I do now?

I also tried to use the ERASE option and I am getting an error: “Delete Partitions error!”
