I have recently got a new router and been using mycloud home via Ethernet .which works fine with the app installed on my computer. Now I tired plug it in the router usb port and the other end to the box. the router did not find it on the router settings page. But i tired it with a usb flash drive and it works fine. I am trying to do this for mycloud home without using the app i am trying to make a mini NAS home server. is this possible to do? if not what other cloud products will suit my needs ?
Not at all. The USB port on the Home is a HOST port, and so is the port on your router. You can’t connect Host to Host via USB.
The USB port on the Home is there so you can connect (and share) another USB drive.
