I am looking for a cloud backup solution. The device seems to be basically an NAS that is on one’s network. WHat I want to do is, once I back up locally, relocate the drive to a family member’s house and do my incremental backups (and if necessary, restore) using either the WD software or something like Crashplan. I want to be able to do this from multiple computers located in different places (my PCs and laptops at my home, my daughter’s laptop in college, etc). Will this work and remain secure?

At the moment remote backups are not supported with the WD My Cloud. I recommend you post this in the ideas section.
