Uploading large music folder to My Cloud - how?

Forgive me I’m sure it’s been covered but I’ve tried looking for a solution that makes sense (to me) or works.

I have a music folder of 150gb (11,000+ files) that I want to load to My Cloud. I’ve tried via wifi and then ethernet from laptop to router (which I saw recommended) but both take forever and when left overnight the laptop goes to sleep mode and the upload stops at about 2000 files. All the album and artist names are loaded but the tracks not beyond roughly alphabetical C.

I think the USB port is redundant for this?

I really want a simple solution and while I’m not tech ignorant anything that involves partitioning this or
creating file that, I’m sure is too complex and why should it be? Is it just changing my laptop sleep mode?

It is a home use consumer device after all. Any advice really appreciated.

Thanks but even with os5 there is no option stated via USB on add files. It’s simply says add files.

I’ve now tried a hard drive storage via USB into MC and it still doesn’t work. Or rather it uploads the artists and album titles but not the files.

Useless. Totally useless. Unless someone knows how?
