Upgrade from smartware to backup?

I have a PR4100 and a windows 10 computer which I use WD Smartware on to back up files. Is it advisable to use WD Backup instead and how do you perform the switch in that case?

Or is a 3rd party solution better?

@kirre777 I still use SmartWare Pro to back up both of my My Clouds.

I was using Smartware to backup my desktop to a MyCloud EX4. I then added a second device, EX4100 using OS3. All worked fine. Then I replaced my EX4 with a second EX4100. I want to update to OS5, but I understand that the new OS5 on MyCloud (EX4100) will not support SmartWare. So do I need to move to Acronis True Image and if so, how do I convert or delete my Smartware backups?
