I’m getting an error message…You must run the WD Drive Unlock application from the WD Drive Unlock CD associated with the drive you want to unlock.
Click Exit, locate and open the related WD Drive Unlock CD and then run WD Drive Unlock to unlock the desired drive.
When I choose the CD the password screen won’t come up. Any thoughts?

Hi,
You should try contacting WD’s Technical Support about this for live assistance and troubleshooting.

I had the same problem and found the solution. go to this link and download the WD Discovery for Mac, the link is here:

For anyone experiencing this issue:
- Download WD Security from WD Support.
- Install it on your Mac and connect your WD My Passport.
- Open WD Security and enter your password when prompted.
- Once unlocked, you can access your files or disable the password if needed.
Download link here: How to Install and Use WD Security Software
Try these steps:
- Reconnect the Drive – Unplug and replug it, then check Finder > Devices for the WD Unlocker.
- Manually Run WD Unlocker – Open WD Unlocker CD and try running the app directly.
- Check Security Settings – Go to System Preferences > Security & Privacy > General and allow WD software if blocked.
- Try Another Mac or Windows PC – See if the unlock prompt appears elsewhere.
If it still won’t work, reinstall WD Security from WD’s site or check for drive corruption using Disk Utility.
