Unable to back up files to My Passport Ultra because there is not enough space.

  1. Will I have to partition and format the WD My Passport Ultra drive
  2. Download the WD programmes when I finish format

HI,

Do you have files already on the Passport? If so, try omitting some areas form the PC, especially the Programs folder as you can usaly find all on line or from downloads.

If not yet backing up, you need to download software. Click on Downloads in the top of this screen and select: WD Discovery, WD Security, WD Utilities and WD BAckup.

I should have stated that I have capacity on the My Passport, and it has been backing up, but has now stopped with the message “Unable to back up files because there is not enough space” I am trying to back up about 100 GB but have over 300 GB free space
