I bought two external 4TB Ultra drives within last six weeks (a “normal” and a “for mac” model, both old style - WDBBKD0040BBK, WDBCGL0040BSL). In both cases from SMART I can only view 4 attributes, far less then for my different WD drives (e.g. ULTRA 3TB with 17 attributes). I cannot read e.g. “power on hours” or “power cycle count”. WD-support confirmed that this SMART-data is incomplete. I already returned my first copy and am going to return the second. The question is if it’s worth another attempt. Someone with 4TB Ultra model - could you please post about the SMART of your drives?

This is currently undergoing investigation.
Today an exchange 4tb ultra drive arrived from my retailer - and it has only four SMART attributes again. So this is the third one. And no reaction from WD support since eight days.
