Time Machine

I set up time machine when i first got the Wd mycloud and can’t now see a way to view the volume or partition where it resides? Time Machine backups are working ok but I was thinking of resizing the available space for Time Machine - its currently 2TB of 4TB but i dont use the drive for anything else at present so wanted to scale TimeMachines share up to maybe 3TB .

What does your Dashboard show? Is this what you own?

What is showing for your overall space that is left? Click on, tap, or activate image to enlarge it.

What is showing for Time Machine usage. I don’t have any Apple devices in use.

If you only use your MyCloud for Time Machine, then all your space should already be available for it. See page 26 in the User Manual. Using Apple Time Machine

See Mac Backups in the OS5 Online User Manual:
https://products.wdc.com/nas0s5/nasum/en/MyCloud/ConfiguringBasicSettings/General.htm#IX_Mac_backup_option

Go to the OS5 My Cloud Dashboard > Settings > General > Mac Backups section.

To configure backup settings:

  1. In the Mac Backups area, click the toggle button to enable Time Machine backups,if not previously enabled.
  2. Click the Configure link to display the Time Machine Settings dialog.
  3. From the Select a Share drop-down list, select a share you’d like to use to back up your Mac data.
  4. In the Maximum Size field, move the slider to indicate the maximum value you’d like to use for your backup.Note: Increasing the maximum backup value after the initial backup has no effect on existing backups. WD recommends leaving this setting at the maximum value for your initial backup. After the first backup is complete, you can change the backup size by dragging the Maximum Size slider.
  5. Click Save.

Thankyou for the advice, very helpful in understanding what’s going on.

Thankyou, just the job and all sorted.
