Time machine MacBook Air

I purchased a my passport wireless today. I am running a MacBook Air OS 10.12.5 (16F73)

When I went to look for the hard drive through time machine - it was not to be seen

I can however see if using finder.

Clearly Im missing something …ahhem a hard rive to access fro backups

Does the WD Wirless back up using Time Machine via the wireless connection. If so how?

See the dedicated My Passport Wireless subforum. This subforum is generally for the single bay/single drive My Cloud devices which are different from the My Password Wireless device.

Default drive format for the MPW Pro is ExFAT. Try reformatting it to HFS+J on your Mac if you wish to use it for Time Machine backup: Backup disks you can use with Time Machine - Apple Support

Nevertheless, I recommend using a dedicated My Passport drive for TimeMachine backup to keep your backups separate if you plan to still use your MPW Pro for other purposes.
