This must have been asked before

Sorry for asking, but i could not find a definite answer.

So, I have WD MyCloud NAS drive and i want to stream video files (i.e. downloaded movies) through an iPad (air) or iPhone (5) to Apple TV (3) to my big screen TV in the living room.

Is there or isn’t there a normal way to do this?

Thanks

There’s bazillions of ways to do this.

The WD-provided way is to enable and configure remote/mobile access.

Then Use the My Cloud app for your iPad to navigate to and play the file, then use AirPlay to your ATV.

The WD app for iOS does NOT support air play. To the best of my knowledge, there are only 2 possible ways to do this.

Buy an HDMI cable that connects Ipad to your TV or Jailbreak your apple TV.

I’ll have to bend to your experience since I don’t have any AirPlay receivers in my house, but lots of the reviews talk about using AirPlay with the app…

Reviews on Amazon like this one: http://www.amazon.com/tricky-solution-programs-matter-browsing/forum/Fx3PVFJYWI5GDQD/Tx2LD630RIJHX4M/1/ref=cm_cd_ql_tlc_al?_encoding=UTF8&asin=B00EVVGAD0

But if that isn’t correct, then any number of Apple DLNA players (which do support AirPlay, like this one: http://gigaom.com/2013/01/10/skifta-ios-app/)) would work, as well, without having to jailbreak or use HDMI cables…

Hi,

I stream from WD Mycloud from Ipad to TV using Twonky Beam App(free).

Hope this helps

I stream from my Iphone from my Mycloud 4tb to my TV (Phillips) using AppelTV.
