Slow WD Elements 3T Ext HDD

I have recently started using a spare 3T WD Elements Ext drive and noticed that it was extremely slow.
The drive was previous formatted for IOS. I have reformatted for windows and now it is extremely slow.
I have done some checks with Windows 10 which indicates that the drive is unhealthy. As indicated in the attached document it indicates a read error rate and Reallocated sectors count Error. Note: drive has seldom been used and is practically new.
Any advice on fixing this error will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Run chkdsk or do a Full Format instead of a Quick Format (which i assume is what you selected)

A Quick Format just removes files from the partition … A Full format on a volume, address files are removed from the linked list of the volume that you are formatting and the hard disk is scanned for bad sectors. The scan for bad sectors is the reason why the Full format takes a long time.

either one will take a very long time, but at this stage that’s about the only option you have.
