Shares are gone after FW update to version 5.19.117

Background

My PR2100 updated the firmware to version 5.18.117 at ~4AM today. I got an email confirmation that it was successful. However, this resulted in disappearance of my two shares from the administrator panel and I can no longer connect to them from my Windows 10 computer.

I am reluctant to revert to an earlier version of FW manually for fear of loosing data…

Questions

  1. Is this a known issue?
  2. How do I get the files back?
  3. Is there a revised version of FW that would fix it?

On EX2 Ultra we cannot see a lot of files and folder… noone deleted them.
After previous upgrade. We just re-upgraded but folders and files disappeared.

I have the same issue with my NAS, is a PR4100, updated to Firmware Release 5.19.117, and now, my hard disk cannot be shown, and the dashboard is screwed, even with this last firmware, the dashboard ask for an update, and the LCD pannel does not pas from “Wellcome to My Cloud PR4100”, and i cant access my files over the network, What is happening with this firmware?

I updated the firmware before for security messures but this one…practically crash my NAS!

I actually got things to work by mounting the drive. My settings were such that the drive does not auto-mount for increased security, but this threw me off after the firmware update. You will need a mount password, which may be different than your access password.

Where do you find the mount password? I just purchase a PR4100 and didn’t set one during the installation process.

I set up mine during the installation process. I don’t know if there exists a default one that would work in your case.
