Same for WD Scorpio Blue WD5000BEVT

I have the same problem with my internal Scorpio Blue WD5000BEVT-80A0RT0. Current Firmware is 01.01A01

The APM value was at 60h and should also be 80h! Please provide a firmware!

It took me several weeks to find out why exactly my ASUS notebook always freezes for a few seconds in different applications. In the Windows 7 Resource Monitor you could trace those hangs, when the last accessed file had a response time of ~3000ms. Then always the HDD spinned up again.

My prior solution was to produce a constant data read with playing a local sound file in loop (however with volume at 0%)

→ Just to be able to work normally!!!

Please fix this little setting in your firmware! Thanks

I can’t understand why WD is keeping silence???

Could anyone WD’s engineer comment this problem and give some solution?

HELLO WD, WHERE ARE YOU??? IT’S NOT A TIME TO PLAY HIDE’N’SEEK!!!

We are paid money for your drives…for usable drives! But it is not usable with 8 seconds of idle time.

Common we are all waiting for the official comments and new firmware. It is really gracelessly!

Best bet is to immediately return a faulty drive, if WD hasn’t done anything by now, it ain’t gonna happen.

This is just a users forum. If it’s a plain HD why are you posting in External HD area? It’s for externals made  by WD not some homemade one.
