I have a My Book Live. Since it seems that there is a Linux back-end, is it possible to replace Twonky with a different media server?
Has anyone done this?
Thanks.

search. I know I saw a post about replacing Twonky with an updated version of Twonky. Personally, I leave it off because it doesnt look like much, cant find folder art properly and I just plain dont like the company that makes it.
I run a Playon media server and it does a much better job of streaming my local media. Looks much better on my WDTV Hub too.
I saw posts about updating Twonky, but I would need to purchase a license. After I posted this, I saw another posting about the WD DNLA media server, which I might try.
I’ve been having issues with Twonky 5.1.9. So far it’s crashed a number of times, and the fact that I can’t fast forward is annoying, especially when I lose the connection in the middle of a movie.
I will probably try the WD DNLA, since WD supports it, but I was curious if anyone has tried any other third-party media servers directly on the My Book Live.
