Remote access with an explorer window

Hi,

I bought WD EX2 6 month ago. I need to work sometimes far from my company and I want to access to my EX2 storages in a explorer’s window instead of the MyCloud application. The aim is to do like we connect a newtwork hard disk, like I can do with my myBookLive => myBookLive permit to access folder with a window explorer.

My EX2 is well accessible with MyCloud, no problem. But I can’t find how to remote access it without MyCloud application.

I hope I’ve been comprehensible :slight_smile:

Note : I want a remote access when I’m not on my network (ex : if I’m 200km far from my company). I’m able to access with a window explorer when I’m on my own network of course.

Welcome to the WD Community.

If is within the same network, you should be able to access the drive just by mapping the shares to your computer. However, remotly you will need to use the WD My cloud app.

Not sure if is possible using windows explorer to access remotly. Another option that you have is to use an FTP client.

In the same network, no problem (with explorer window).

Remotly, with WD My Cloud App, no problem.

But… if I want to access remotly, impossible to map the shares to my computer through a explorer window :frowning:

It’s possible with MyBookLive. I believed it was possible with EX2 ?!

If there is no possibilities, where can I find a good tutorial to setup my FTP connexion, because I tried but impossible to reach EX2 vy FTP… I missed something somewhere but what ???
