Just bought a “My Passport” drive that include WD Security software. I added a password. Does adding a password mean the drive is automatically encrypted or do I have to manually do something to enable encryption?

The WD Security software sets password to electronically lock and unlock the drive. It allows password protection and hardware encryption to be set to protect the drive from unauthorized use or access.
It is required to add a password then it will start to provide hardware encryption on the drive.
