Hello guys,
i bought a WDEP two weeks ago trough amazon. I transferred many .mkv’s and I watch them every day. I’ve got an old TV (no LCD or Plasma) and I’m using the RGB Ports to connect the WDEP with my TV.
Now, my girlfriend had a great present for me: a new Samsung Flatscreen-TV. I was very happy, because I thought I can now watch my favorite TV-Shows in HD. The Picture is very nice, but every 1080p-mkv seems to “judder”. I can see these judders especially in slower camera movement scenes. It’s verry annoying and dissapointing, because I spent a lot of money buying the WDEP 2 TB :/
Now my question: Has anyone got an idea, what can i do, to watch my FullHD-mkv’s smooth and without judders? The problem is, that the EP only judders connected via HDMI-cable. With the RGB-Connection it works perfect.
Regards
Patrick
RGB Connection? The Elements Play doesn’t have an RGB connection. Not sure what you’re comparing to.
There are some issues with MKV files, but what *I’VE* seen is not “Judder,” the motion artifact seen when 24fps content is displayed on a 60Hz display… It’s just crappy decoding.
Yeah, i mean the Scart-Connection. The Red, White and Yellow cables. What do you mean with bad encoding? What can I do to fix this?
I don’t think it’s bad ENCODING, I think it’s bad DECODING. The Elements Play definately has some issues playing certain MKVs smoothly, but I haven’t been able to narrow down what “Magic” makes them play smooth.
All I can say is that these same MKV files play quite nicely on my LIVE boxes; just a little jerky now and then on the EP.
Thanks for explaining. Can this problem solved on software-level? Eventually by developing a firmware-update?
