Problem with my WD TV model WDBHG70000NBK-HESN not reading hard drive

So i just bought this earlier this week and it does not read all the files on the Hard Drive.  Only pops up with 5 movie files instead of the several hundreds that are on there.   Hard drive I am using is Western Digital MyBook Essential 3.0 External HD 3TB.

Player model is : WDBHG70000NBK-HESN

Any advice is appreciated.

  • Are you connecting the drive to the front or back USB port?

  • Which firmware version are you using?

  • What’s the format of your movies?

  • If you connect another drive do you encounter the same issue?

  • Is the media library on?
