Pre-purchase questions about Mac Compatibility

Hi

i am interested in buy a My Cloud EX2 Ultra NAS but i have two critical doubts:

  1. Is possible format the partitions under OS X Format or the partitions have EX Format ?
  2. Is possible make a backup of the disk(s) inside the NAS to another USB HardDrive via Time Machine ?

In answer to your questions,

  1. No, THe MyCloud drives are formatted in LINUX EXT3 format and cannot be reformatted to HFS or NTFS
  2. Yes and no, Yes you can make a backup of the data via USB backup that is built into the EX2 Ultra, but no, you cannot do it through Time Machine.
