I have a PR4100 containing 4 - 6Tb WD Red drives. Firmware 2.30.165. I have the NAS configured as RAID 1 and have created a Volume_1 and a Volume_2. After creating the users and their respective shares, I am confused as to “where” the data is actually stored and “where” is the RAID 1 mirrored drive(s).
Is drive bays 1 and 2 Volume_1 and drive bays 3 and 4 Volume 2 ??
Is Volume_1 mirrored to Volume_2 using RAID 1 ??
My plan is to swap drive bays 3 and 4 occasionally with new drives, and store the removed drives in a secure place allowing the NAS to rebuild the newly inserted drives in bays 3 and 4.
Any help would be greatly appreciated …
