I tried the following:
-
WDMyCloud Discovery App - > discontinued for…“reasons” → NOT WORKING
-
Selecting my MCH server from my Win11 Explorer Network Servers
→ Network Window
→ Opens and shows Public and TimeMachineBackup but both folders are empty and there is no way for me to check/add credentials.
→ NOT WORKING -
Attempting to add MCH as a mapped network drive from Win11 Explorer
Method #1-> Entered \WDMYCLOUD\Public → Error: “The folder you entered does not appear to be valid. Please choose another” → NOT WORKING
Method#2-> Entered local IP address of MCH\Public → Will let you proceed through the entire drive mapping process and once the new drive is showing in Windows Explorer all of the directories are empty → NOT WORKING
I have a full-time job and I don’t have time to study for a CCNA certification, is there a STRAIGHTFORWARD AND WORKING way to simply map my WD MyCloud as a networked drive to my Windows 11 system?
Note:
Do not ask me to submit a ticket, this was an issue that most certainly WD was aware of ahead of time so there is no reason for me to retype to bring to their attention something that they are already aware of.
Do not ask me to provide feedback on this product, I promise you that you don’t want me to share my thoughts on your organization (using the loosest possible definition of the word organization).
I’ve seen others here attempt to get specific answers to their problems and are met with generic/unhelpful responses or links to pages for solutions that no longer work. If you don’t know the answer that’s fine but please spare myself and any of the others who will reference this in the future to help fix their setup.
Thank you
