I have a strange thing happening on mycloud device. I have 4 family members set up on it to only view folders I believe all users are set to read only the read write option is not on for them.
We all use apple devices apart from my brother who is android and this is where the problem is. This device is backing up various photos and videos to mycloud. How can we stop it doing this. As I’m the admin for the mycloud I can’t see any option about auto backup.
The backup has to be a setting/app on his android device , nothing can be set on the mycloud that would force it to backup from a device.
Are you sure that account used on the android device has only read permission and not the read-write permission ? (I am asking this as you have used phrase “I believe” )
The WD Mobile App for Android includes the ability to automatically backup photos and videos. This option is prompted when you connect the app to the MyCloud.
The default location is probably somewhere on the Public share. You cannot set read/write options on Public; it is always full access for anyone.
You can turn off backup options within the Android Mobile app, under Settings.
