Please help me!

I just 2 days ago brought a my passport  and after putting all my files on I entered a new password at 2 in the morning thinking  I was clever and now I have forgotten it!   so the question is how do i retrieve the password so the wife doesn’t kill me for losing all her photos!

If you don’t remember it, you can’t retrieve the files.  You can reformat the drive, after so many failed attempts (5), but you won’t be able to retrieve the data.
