I have WD My Passport which I purchased a year or so ago and am no longer able to remember the password. Is there any way to reset the password? I don’t have anything stored on the drive yet.
If you try a wrong password a few times (5-10 or so I think) you should get an option to format and reset the drive, which will remove the password (and any content on it) and take you back to a bare empty but accessible drive.
What if you want to keep the info on your drive?
You need to remember the password.
For security reasons it’s not possible to get access without it, as you would have been warned when you enabled security on the drive.
