I just bought a new WD My Passport (1 TB) and am trying to transfer all my data from another, older passport. When I finally manage to connect the older one, I plug in the newer drive to transfer everything smoothly but the newer drive isn’t detected on my laptop, not on disk utility or anything. I did some research into this but all the forums online talk about Windows instead of Mac. Anyone have a solution?

Have you tried connecting the new drive only? if it does connect, might be a conflict with the signature of the drive.
After connecting the new drive by it self, if you are not able to see it, try using a different USB cable and try on a different computer.
Yeah the new drive reads fine, it’s just it doesn’t show up when the other one is connected.
