New WD software causes malfunction with old WD devices

OS: Win 7

Old device: wd5000c032

New device: wdbfjk0040hbk

After installing the included software of the new hdd i could not access the old device anymore.

the old hdd was still working with linux or win7 in safe mode.

I uninstalled the WD Software → the old hdd is working

So i only can suggest don’t use the actual buggy versions of WD DriveUtilities and WD Security!
