It says update is complete and shows a new time for the last backup but no new files are backed up. I downloaded the new Smartware version 2.0.1 (had the 1.6 version) a few months ago and it has not worked since then. When I check for new software updates from within the program I get an Error 500.
Please try to manually update the software from the link bellow:

I have same problem. I have a 3T Book Essential. My Smartware is version 2.1.0.
Backup indicates as “Partial backup accomplished. Remaining files will be backed up later”. However backup has slow to a stop. Note: I have switched from Category Backup to File Backup.
WD Smartware working now after I uninstall Version 1.0 manually and re-installed Version 1.1. Would be nice if automatic up-grade could be smoother next time.
